With so many fantastic choices, finding a hiking trail that fits your ability level and Fido’s can be a challenge. No worries, we’ve selected six hiking trails near you that are suited for you and your furry friend!
Liberty Creek & Edith Hanson Loop
This trail is nearly 8.5 miles long and takes about four hours to complete. If you’ve had quite a bit of experience hiking with your dog, this could be a good option for you, but if you’re more of a novice hiker, you may want to choose a trail further down our list! Liberty Creek is a popular trail, especially from March to November. This time of year is when the trail is most apparent from debris. As the seasons change and fall turns into winter, more leaves, sticks, and other items will cover the trail.
An entrance fee is required at the trailhead, and dogs must always stay on their leash on Liberty Creek and Edith Hanson Loop.
Upper Falls Loop – Upper Falls Community Forest
This trail is a quick 3-mile loop, which takes an hour and thirteen minutes to finish. This area is excellent for the whole family and offers plenty of activities for more adventurous groups. Hiking, biking, fishing, and birdwatching are all great ways to enjoy this area. While the Upper Falls Loop is popular year-round, visiting from March to October is best.
This is a free trail, and dogs must stay on a leash.
Iller Creek Conservation Area
Iller Creek offers a 5-mile loop that takes under three hours to complete. The conservation area that this trail is homed on is over 900 acres. There’s plenty of wildlife and nature to enjoy on this trail, especially during the fall. As you and your furbaby explore, you can expect to see thousands of gold leaves falling from Larch trees.
There is no charge to enjoy Iller Creek Conservation Area, and furry friends should have a leash on at all times.
Black Bay Park Trail
This quick trail is perfect for hikers just beginning to hit the trails. This 0.7-mile out-and-back only takes sixteen minutes to finish. It’s great for quick exercise in beautiful terrain and as an introduction to this great fall hobby. This trail is paved, which tends to drive up its popularity. However, it does tend to fall back down near the end of fall.

Stevens Creek Trail
If you’re ready for a medium-difficulty trail, this pick could be your next outing. Stevens Creek Trail is a 2.1-mile out-and-back that can get especially steep and will take about an hour and fourteen minutes to complete. Don’t let a little challenge deter you! This trail is beautiful in the summer and fall and is never overcrowded.
Stevens Creek Trail is free for all guests. If you’re bringing your pup along, park officials ask that they be on a leash.
Spokane River Trails – Corbin Park
Our last pick is certainly not the least! Spokane River Trail in Corbin Park is a 1.4-mile loop that takes twenty-seven minutes to complete. This area offers unique activities for an entire day filled with fun. After your quick hike, enjoy paddleboarding with your pup or a float down the river!
You can enjoy this trail free of charge. Dogs are to be leashed.
